An annual tradition since 2008, the University of Phoenix Alumni Homecoming is a series of local events that take place over a three-month period in the fall. Each event is a dynamic opportunity for our alumni to re-connect with their university, network with other alumni, and have some fun. Share your firsthand experiences and perspectives with an undergraduate class that is focusing on 1968 and how the events of that time impacted student lives and the country. UND School of Medicine and Health Sciences, E221 (Second Floor).
Homecoming at University of Montevallo Crest of the Wave is the theme set for Homecoming 2019 scheduled for February 8-9 to honor the Celebration of the Centennial College Night. Homecoming at the University of Montevallo is a festive week of things to see and do. It is that exciting time in February for alumni from near and far to “come home” to UM (or for some, Alabama College), to see former classmates and renew old friendships. For students, Homecoming is also the culmination of a month of Purple and Gold competition.
Celebrating Purple and Gold is what Homecoming at UM is really all about. It begins as early as January with the ribbon hanging on campus. Students, declaring allegiance to either Gold side or Purple side, compete in athletic events and work to prepare original musical shows for the main Homecoming event: College Night.
College Night tickets for Active Alumni who have made a minimum $40 contribution to UM since August 1, 2018 will be available beginning at 8 a.m. On November 15 through University Tickets. Additional information about Alumni College Night tickets and Homecoming events are made available as they are confirmed.
Please check back periodically for updates. Friday kicks off the Homecoming festivities with the UMNAA board meeting followed by the 50-Year reunion class celebratory dinner and Distinguished Alumnus reception. The Saturday of Homecoming offers a packed schedule full of activity for all. It includes registration in Reynolds Hall, departmental open houses, annual alumni awards luncheon that includes installation of new officers and directors of UMNAA, reunions for class years and special groups, and the Purple-Gold basketball game. The final performance and judging of the Gold and Purple productions takes place Saturday night.
Also recognized during Homecoming are the University’s alumni award recipients, the College Night Honoree, and Mr. University of Montevallo. “If you have never lived through one” a former leader wrote in 1931, “never cried, laughed or sweated through one, know this. It is the crest of the waveof college spirit.
